Mohali (Punjab), March 30 (IANS) Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will hold formal talks with his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani at a meeting room of the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium here Wednesday evening while the cricket teams of both countries clash in the high-voltage semifinal match of the 2011 Cricket World Cup here .
Sources in the security establishment said a conference room has been kept on standby at the PCA clubhouse for both prime ministers to hold discussions.
"Two rooms in the PCA (clubhouse) have also been kept for the two PMs, in case they want to rest," a senior official told IANS.
Gilani arrived here from Islamabad to watch the match at the invitation of Manmohan Singh.
"Both PMs will be together for 7-8 hours of the match. We have no idea how long they hold the meeting for. It will depend on how things unfold," the official said.
A lot of importance is being attached to the event since it is being seen as an ice-breaking one between the political leadership of both countries after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack by Pakistani terrorists which led to a stalling of official dialogue between the countries.
